What are “Cricket Egg Crates?” Why are crickets supposed to have egg crates in their containers with them? A Cricket Egg Crate is the same thing as an egg crate. There are a few excellent reasons to use Cricket Egg Crates in your crickets enclosure. They are:
Personal Space: Crickets are territorial insects and do not live with hundreds of other crickets in nature like they do in a typical cricket enclosure. Male crickets tend to fight other males. Thus, by adding Cricket Egg Crates, you are allowing the crickets to have their own space of their choosing. The more crickets you want to house in any given container, the more Cricket Egg Crates you will need to use.
Safe Source of Fiber: As you might have observed with crickets, they are incessant munchers. They will nibble on almost anything that you put into their cricket enclosure. That is why any egg crates you place into the cricket container are made of cardboard and NOT styrofoam.
If your crickets start too much on any styrofoam egg cartons that you accidentally use for the cricket container, you will have a lot of dead crickets in no time. On the other hand, our cardboard Cricket Egg Crates are safe to eat for your crickets, with the paper fiber passing effortlessly through their digestive system.
Our Cricket Egg Crates are available as a single crate, 20 pack, or a 70 pack. On this page, you can select all three quantities from the menu above.
The crickets will be so happy that you are using egg crates in their enclosure. They will be happy and healthy until they meet their end in the stomach of your pet critter. 😀
